There are a lot of people who decided to work from home. There are some who do both; home and office. Working from home presents some advantages. But for it to work, there still needs to be structure. If you decide to work form home, you need to prepare yourself will for it to work. This is how you stray productive.

You need to choose a workspace. You can, for instance, make a corner your office. Those with large houses can make a room an office. You need a quiet place. This will help you work for long without giving up. If it helps, you can recreate how your former employment desk looked like.

You need to take advantage of morning hours. The time you would have spent on the road still needs to be used well. You need a productive morning routine. You can start working right away, go to the gym, read the news, or so anything else to keep you focused. You will have an easier time as the day goes. Choose a routine that you will be consistent with.
Find a fixed day’s routine as well. You will know how to balance yourself if you took some time off. Breaks are great for recharging, but they need the discipline to get you focused on work. You need to allocate time for breaks too.
You need to dress up too. When you continue to wear your pajamas, your mind takes time to shift from relaxation to work mode. Dressing up communicated the seriousness of the situation to it. Aim to look professional yet comfortable.

You will need to have some noise in the room. You should however not blast loud music or let the kids near your work. You need the noise for the mind to stay present. Have some music on but at a low volume. It will also help you enjoy what you are doing.

You need to also watch your diet. Staying in one place can mess up your alertness. Ensure you keep hydrated. take not less than six glasses of water. You also need to take only healthy food. Make sure you have a full and healthy breakfast daily, with healthy snacks for the day. Take only a little caffeine. Instead have more fruits. The sugar will help to keep you alert. It should be easier for you to eat healthy, since you do not have to pack up everything for work.

Do not shut out people. It is easy to forget this part. But be careful, as people might think you can be reached at will. Let them know when you can be reached. Part of your structure should define your duties in the house, and have the knowledge and support of your spouse and kids.

As time goes, review your progress, and keep at your structure, no matter how hard it may be sometimes. AS time goes, you will get better t it.
